About the Webinar

This presentation will highlight the importance of mental wellbeing, both in and out of the workplace.  

  • For employee benefits professionals, the Mental Health First Aid program can help identify employees who may be struggling with a behavioral health challenge, initiate an outreach, and understand the resources available.

  • For industry professionals striving to support their clients during these uncertain times, this program will help you learn how to tap into your resilience and assist your clients in managing the stress of this uncertain environment.

Dr. Stuart Lustig will discuss prioritizing emotional strength during difficult times:

  • Understand and validate the challenges HR professionals experience on a daily basis

  • Recognize mental health signs and symptoms associated with the COVID-19 crisis

  • Provide practical strategies to help cope with daily stressors related to COVID-19 and beyond

Laura Magnuson will present an overview of Cigna’s Mental Health First Aid program:

  • Gain the ability to arm a strategic manager with critical training, tools, and resources to support employees

  • Understand what Mental Health First Aid includes and the benefits it provides to employers


About the Presenters

Dr. Stuart L. Lustig, MD, MPH, is a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and Lead Medical Director for child and adolescent care for Cigna's behavioral health business.  He has led an effort at Cigna to disseminate the company’s health services research via peer reviewed journal publications and presentations at conferences in order to enhance Cigna’s credibility with clients, provider groups and customers.  He oversaw creation of a Cigna University course, Publishing and Presenting Our Success, and advocated successfully for hiring a medical writer under the auspices of Cigna's Brand Center for Excellence’s newly formed Center for Clinical Excellence and Customer Wellbeing.  These efforts have recently yielded numerous peer-reviewed publications.  Cigna recognized the teams led by Dr. Lustig that contributed to these initiatives with Cigna's Quarterly Champion Award.

Laura MagnusonLaura Magnuson, MA, MS, LAMFT, is the Behavioral Clinical Account Manager for the Arizona, Southern California, and the Mountain states markets. In her role she acts as a Subject Matter Expert to Cigna Sales teams, and serves as pro-active member of assigned client account teams working to support New Business Managers, Client Managers and market leadership within the sales organization. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of advanced market issues and Cigna’s suite of behavioral products, services, and capabilities. She partners with behavioral operations to maintain a working knowledge of all clinical, health care partners and operational processes necessary to support clients and sales teams. She is also a mental health first aid trainer. She is passionate about educating others on mental health.
